Seamen's Rest, Lyttelton, on Moni day night, a well-attended concert was given !by tlie following ladies and gentlemen: ; Misses Hatch well. C. Meikle. Weir, M. I Clerk. M'Ni.&H, and Hough, Mrs Gilmore, I Me'srs Hobs on. Foster, ar.d Cook, and Mas- ! ter Riordan. The usual votes of thanks, ! and "God Save the King," concluded the I programme, which had been greatly appre- | ciated. '■■ 'I her"" wan again a crowded house at the Opera House night, when the Dix Gaiety Company played ".Muidoon's Picnic" successfully. All the different speciality items went excellently. This a it. moon there will be a rnatlnee performance in addition to tha ordinary evening one. The specti-esci-pe reprrduction of "Faust and Marguerite." by the Northcote Company at th. Oddfello.ws' Hr.ll. is equally as successful as the "Christmas Carol.'' which j.re.-i.de>l it. the hall being tilled to overflowing last night. Tha piece went well, as also did t.'ie'mu.-lcal olio, ar.d the spectral farce. 'The Company appear again to-night.
