KING EDWARD'S ESTATES.
Unusually interesting (remarks a London paper) is the report of the Commissioners of Woods and Forests for 1900, avhioh was issued the other day, because it contains a list of the King's private estates. The King oaa-n-* the Abbotswood estate, Forest of Doan, whose timber was granted to a near-by abbey by Henry 111. in 1258 A The Kings owns Albany street Police Station, end is the leaseholder of the garden of Dartmouth House, Ho. 2, Queen Anne's Gate, which backs on to Birdcage Walk. The Marlborough Hotel in Bury* street, W., is his property, and so is the Holborn Restaurant and the Carlton Hotel, Her Majesty's Theatre, and the Royal Opera Arcade. The plot of land on which the last thrse buildings stand is let for seventy-two years from 1898 on a building lease at a rental of £4200. Mr King's house at the corner of Piccadilly and Park lane, next door to Lord Glenesk, is the King's, who receives a rental of £1000.
