THE MARCH OF THE IMPERIAL TROOPS.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE TT.ESS.
Sir, —May I draw the attention of the City Surveyor, or the official rssponsible, to an apparently small but most necessary detail in connection with the marching through the streets of the Imperial troops. That is, if the day b3 nob wet, to the careful watering (not flooding) of the whole length of the route.
Tiie uniforms are mostly dark or scarlet, and our experience of such on our late Jubilee Day yras not to show t-hem to advantage after thjy had gone half a mile. Besid.'s this, it is due to our visitors to do all in our power to provide for their comfort, and to lay -ths dust fiend yvould go a long way to this. —Yours, etc., NOR'-WESTER.
