Battle Honours—Copenhagen, llonte Video, Boleria, Vimira, Corunna, Busaco, Barossa, dOnor, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajos, Salamanca, Vittoria, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, Toulouse, Peninsula, Waterloo, South Africa ('46-7 and '51-3), Alma, Inkerman, Sebastopol, Lucknow, Ashantee, Ali Masjid, Afghanistan, Burma, Khartoum.
Uniform —Dark green, with black facings.
The Riflo Brigade (the Prince Consort's Own) -which was formerly the 95th, under its present, and former designation has fought everywhere. The corps was formed early in 1800.
Amongst the earliest olf its war services was the famous "Battle of the Baltic," in which a tfctachinent was present on board Nelson's flagship, the Elephant. The Rifle Brigade fought with great dash and spirit in the Peninsula. After the Battle of Waterloo, and in recognition of its brilliant ssrvices, the 95th Rilits was tak;n out of the Line, and constituted an independent corps, under the style of the Rifle Brigade.
