A SEVENTH CONTINGENT.

Although the final decision has not yet been arrirxxl at, or the details entered into, it is fully expected that New Zealand will send a seventh contingent to South Africa, the strengtb of which will be fither 800 or 1000 men. For several days the rumour has been current in local volunteer circles, and amongst returned troopers, that such a proposal ia on tlie tapis. All the medically-fit returned troopers will, in all probability, be included in the ranks of the seventh contingent. The matter will, it is understood, be finally decided shortly after the return of the Premier to tha colony. On? of the Imperial troopships which have left South Africa will, it is believed, come on to tills colony and convey the contingent to South Africa.
