THE COLLISION NEAR PORT CHALMERS.

PORT CHALMERS, February 4. The railway officials are very reticent as to the collision at Port Chalmers on Saturday. A report has been forwarded to Wellington, and an inquiry will bs held at an early date. The train collided with was not leaving for half an hour, so there were very few passengers on board. Only three were hurt, and none seriously. Tha mishap might easily have been attended with dire results, and calls for the closest investigation.
