A GENERAL ADVANCE.

(Received February 4th, 11.12 p.m.) LONDON, February 4. Seven British columns have begun the advance from stations at Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Delagoa Bay railways, with a view of covering and clearing the eastern Transvaal. Portuguese authorities at Delagoa have decided to send the Boers in Portuguese territory, who do not surrender to the British, to Itladeira. Thirty have surrendered at Koomati Poort. Hcrtzog stole two thousand horses and mules, and terrorised the Sutherland district, threatening even the women and children with death. A patrol of the Diamond Fields Horse, racing the Boers, seized Langkloof Pass, preventing HeTtzog's advance south. The cruiser Doris and two gunboats are watching Mossel Bay.
