CONFERENCES ON VARIOUS QUESTIONS.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received February Ist, 11.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 1. Mr Seddon and Mr Barton had a conference with reference to the Xew Hebrides and Fiji. A satisfactory discussion on matters relating to th© Pacific Islands took place, but the course of action to be taken has not transpired. Mr Seddon, Sir W. J. Lyne, and Mr Mills conferred with respect to tbe Vancouver service, and tbe improvement of the steam service with a view to bringing New Zealand into closer relationship with the 'Federation.
