The Pukaki arrived from Westport at 4.25 a.m. yesterday. The Tutane—ii arrived from Wellington at 7.30 a.m., and sailed for Dunedin at noon yesterday. The Kahu arrived from Napier at 11.15 a.m. The John Anderson yesterday was put on the beech at _ urau for a cleaning. Hie Wakatu left for Cheviot, etc., yesterday afternoon. Tho Ikhono, with a quantity of wool packs, etc., from Calcutta, is expected to arrive from Wellington this morning. Xne Tarawera left for Wellington at the usual hour last night. The Ht-rild arrived from Greymouth about 6 o'clock yesterday evening. The ilairio was towed out into the stream yesterday afternoon. ' The Delphic's departure is postponed till to-night. The Union Steam Ship Company has been advised that the s.s. Whangape left Calcutta on 6th January, and Singapore on 16th January for New Zealand, and will make Auckland her rir3t port of call. Mr David Mel„tyr._ late of the schooner Falcon, who has been studying at "Devoiiia" Navigation School, Lyttelton, passed his examination yesterday for a certificate of competency as mate of a. Home trade passenger ship.
