THE PRINCE OF WALES.
A REASSURING STATMENT. (Received January 22nd, 1.57 a.m.) (Delayed in transmission.) LONDON, January 21. The Prince of Wales, replying to the Court officials in liondon yesterday implied that there had been no unfavourable turn of tho Queen's illness. "You see," he said, "they allowed mc to come to Lend-on." Tha Prince of Wales and the Dnke of York warmly greeted the Kaiser on his arrival at Charing Cross. He stayed at Buckingham Palace for the night, and will proceed by an early train to-day to Osborne. Tlie delay waa partly intended to spare the Queen excitement. (Received January 22nd, 2.5 a.m.) LONDON, January 21. The telegraph states that there is sincere sorrow in eveiy capital. Kings Victor Emanuel (Italy) and Frau_ Joseph (Austria.), Prince Christian, and President McKinley are much concerned. The Pope evinces great somrw, and prays earnestly for tho Queen's recovery. "God Save the Queen" was sung with fervour in all the military places of worship, and many churches. The Princess of Wales and Princess Christian, with their invaluable experience, axe constant in their devotion to the Queen.
