FIRE BRIGADE DEMONSTRATION.
A meeting in connection with the Fire Brigade Demonstration, to be held on 26th and 28th February and Ist and 2nd March, was held last nfght at the City Council Chambers. His Worship the Mayor presided, and there was a large about sixty or seventy being present. Those present were then formed into a General Committee, with power to add to their number. The following were then appointed as the Executive:—His Worship the Mayor, Han. C. Louisson, Superintendent E. Smith, Messrs C. M. Gray, W. Harris, W. D. Meares, R. C. Bishop, G. R. Hart, H. G. Ell, M.H.R.. W. W. Collins, M.H.R., C. Lewis, M.H.R., W. W. Charters ('lion treasurer), C. BlaKe, C. Oatee (hon. secretary).
The following sub-committees were appointed : Entertainment—Dr. Jennings, Dr. Russell, Messrs J. R. Triggs, W. E. Sorrell, t. Maude, (}. Smart, G. R. Hart, J. M. Thompson, A. 11. Kirk, B, McMillan. W. E. Samuels, W. Bain, and •Superintendent Smith. Ground Committee —Messrs A. D. Dobson. \V. K» Samuels, T. Russell, G. Croll, W. Prudhoe, J. Duncan, K. C. Ashby, W. I. Bellinger, W. B. Hobbs, and E. Toneycliffe. Canvassing Committee —Messrs M. Davie, A. L. Parsons, J. R. Triggs, G. R. Hart, W. Bain, the Mayor of Sumner, and Superintendent Smith. Art Union Committee —Messrs G. Morris, G. Capper, A. Hancock, W. Juriss, J. Whiteside, Superintendents Smith and Henisworth. The whole of the Mayors of surrounding boroughs were elected members of the General Committee.
