FUNERAL OF MR M. SANDSTEIN
Th Q funeral of Mr Marcus Sandstein took place-yesterday. The universal respect in which the'late Mr Sandstein was held was testified by the large number of friends wlio had assembled to pay a. last tribute to the deceased. In addition to a number of relatives and close friends, there were present representatives from the Christchurch City Council, the East- Christchurch School Committee, the Chi istchurcli Buildin°- and Land Society, and the various Masonic Lodges. About a onarter to three the Ions; cortege moved slowly on towards the LinwoW Cemetery, where the burial service was conducted by the Jewish Rabbi in Christchurch, the Rev. T. Zachariah. Tha service was partly in Hebrew, and partly in English. There was no special Masonic service. The pall benrers wfre 'Messrs 1 , . Seller. V. Harris. H. Harris, B. Na-slu.sld, ?. Metz. and E.
