Alessrs Bostoek and Company, the wellknown Liverpool firm of sugar refiners, are claiming heavy damages from Air Nicholson, managing director of the Hunslet Chemical Works, for supplying arsenicated sulphuric acid, thereby causing the recent beer-poison-ing. AVERTING HAILSTORAIS. LONDON, January 11. Air Clement Wragge, tbe Queensland meteorologist, who is visiting Europe, is greatly impressed with the Hyrian system of averting hailstorms by means of cannon. He believes the adoption of thi3 method would save Queensland many thousands of pounds a year.
