At a meeting of the managing oommittce of tbe New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association to-night, voluminous correspondence •was read from the Lyttclltn Regatta Committee, the Christchurch Regatta Club, and Mr N. L. Mcßet-h, the Association's representative in Canterbury, on the subject of the amendments recently made by the committee in the 'Lyttelton and championship regatta programmes. Tho southerners cia:mc_ that local conditions rendered it impossible for them to eliminate "stump" races from their progiammes. After a lengthy discussion, the committee decided, in view of the explanation made by the southerners-, to re-scind the veto upen "stump" races. With regard to proposal to row Junior Fours at tha ekarnpior.(_hip -regatta in clinker beats, the commutes agreed to withdraw its opposition,' but ir„id<_ a strong recommendation to the Christchurch Regatta Club that Junior Fours should be rawed in "Best 'and) B.«t" 'boats. In face of rule 19, the committee adhered to its previous decision to strike out cf the Lyttelton programme the conditio.!_ilm the first prise money would not ba paid u;;li.ss two cr rnsre boats from different clubs competed.
