DRUNKENNESS.
Tho9. Barkle admitted being drank at th« Show Ground while in charge of a> horse and cab, and was fined 20s and 1 costs. Two first, offenders and Margaret Dingledee were fined 5s and costs, with the usual alternative, for drunkenness. Geo. Bailey, a man-of-war's man, who had been locked up by the police while drunk, was convicted, and discharged with a caution. ALLLEGED BREAKING AND ENTER- . (ING. William Fahey, who was arrested by Detective CaKsells, waa charged with breaking and entering into the dwelling of Adelaide Wartland. Peterborough .street, on March 29th, and stealing a quantity of jewellery iiml clothing. Inspector Ellison asked for a rem.m? for ;», week, which was granted.
Messrs W. H. Cooper, l W. Prudhoe, and H. H. Bay ward , were the presiding justices.
LYTTELTON. *
At Lyttelton yesterday, Mr J. Hamilton, J. P., disposed of the cuses brought at the Police Court. Christian Petersson, for J laving been drunk and disorderly was fined S*. with the usual alternative, and a first offender was convicted and discharged. Four boys, charged with having disturbed the congregation at St. Saviour's Church last Sunday, were convicted and discharged with, a taubion. the churchwarden. Mr Smith, pleading for them. fleorge Bettx, William uetrs, Frederick Gleesoii, ifiul Willium Chapman, for threatening behaviour in a public street, were convicted and discharged, each icing ordered to pay his own costs.
