MINING NEWS.
The return from the Grey River Company's dredge, says the "Grey Kiver Argus," was eagerly awaited on Saturday evening. The result of the week's work was 13oz of gold for 115 hours, a-s there had been a considerable stoppage owing to an accident to the machinery . during the week. The "Greymouth Star" cays that given fine weather the Dobson No. 2 dredge will be ready to commence work about the end of next month.
It is probable that the Waipuna Gold Dredging Company's dredge will wash up on Thursday, says tho "Greyinouth Star," but no great result need be expected, as the dredge is merely cutting its way to the ground where lucrative work ia expected to be begun. A meeting of the Craig's Freehold Gold Dredging Company was held on Tuesday afternoon, when the whole of the contributing shares, 13,000, were alloted.
