The results of the North Canterbury Morris-tube Association matches last wee* being the lost of tbe round for the season, were: —Waikuku 273 v Woodend not in, Sefton A 319 v Cust 303, Carleton 305 V Oxford not in, and Rangiora 327 v Sefton B,
At the annual tea and public meeting of. the Cust Band of Hope, on Monday evening, the following officers were elected for the, ensuing ear:—President, Rev. F. Stubbs; vice-presidents, Mrs Stubbs and Mr A. D. Hassall; secretary, Mrs Spencer; committee, Mesdames McKie, Hassall, Walker and Hodgson, Miss Spencer, and Messrs Henderson, Nankivell and Gartry. An address wa* given by Mr R. Evans, of Kaiapoi, and eongt and recitations by the following juvenile members:—Misses Spencer, N. McCutckean, N. Walker, and Masters D. McKie, G. Forbes, and E. Spencer. A vote of thanks was accorded to the ladies, Mr Evans, and the retiring officers. The Oddfellows' Hall was well filled last night, when the Fuller Bijou Company again appeared very succe.__.ully. 3VLr . Will Wat-kins, who is a groat favourite with the audiences, had to respond to several encores, as also .had the other artists on the programms, including Mr G__a__e_Faning, Miss Devoe, etc. Th. company will repeat the programme this evening. At ths we___.y -meeting of the Durham. street Literary Society on Monday'eveming, a pa.per on the "Life and Works of Robert Browning" was read by Mrs Coleman, to whom many of those present expressed their thanks for her excellent and also for bringing Browning under their'notice, seeing that his woiks arc not very widely read. Several .selections from the poems of the author w_re real or recited by various mem*. bars. Thi Rev. W. Baundx_ presided. The Choral Hall was well filled last night with an a-** .eciative audience, the occasion being the Natives' Association's Native and National concert. The first part of the programme consisted of items given by members of tho Maori race, and consisted of hakns and other native dances and songs. The dances were greatly appreciated by the audience, and evoked considerable applause. Tbe second part of the programme opeined with an instrumental trio by Miss Black and Messrs E. M. Sat-d----stein and L. Bonnington ; and songs were given by Misses Lilian Smith, Miss Bon-, nington'and M. Graham, Messrs W. Izard, George March, C. S. Bell imd P. Hock-. ley, and Mr Winter Hall contributed a recitation. The latter part of the programme was as appreciatively received a. the first, and en.ores were frequent.
