REMARKABLE SLY-GROG SELLING CASE.

Mitchell, in plain clothes, accomi panied by a man named Williams, went to ! Catherine Lpik's house on the instructions of Sergeant Forbes to endeavour to get a [ conviction. Both Mitcbell and Williams stated they purchased beer from the dst fendant. This the defendant denied, and i at the close" of tTae case," her solicitor handed tlie Magistrate,informations,sworn by Mrs i Lock and a Mrs Guintel, charging Mitchell and -Willrlams with committing rape on' the occasion in question. The sly grog-selling case was adjourned, and Mitcbc'll and Williams were remanded' till Wednesday, bail, £100 each, being.alio wed.
