A smart piece of work has just been done by Captain McKanzie .in the auxiliary schooner Huia. She left Lytteiton on Tuesday, the 21st of August, with 320 tons of produce for Kaipara. This cargo she discharged at thirteen different places on the river, tr.d she then loaded 184,000 ft of kauri timber for Lytteiton, where she arrived yesterday, September 12th, thus having been only. 21 days on the voyage from Lytteiton and back. This makes her ninth round trip since January. 1900. ... The Kilburn's departure. for South Africa takes place to-day. The Star- of New Zealand leaves for London this morning. The Anerley, which was to leave Timaru for Durban yesteaday, shipped about 80,000 bags of oats at that port. The Whangapo is loading coal at Newcastle for Timaru, which port she will probably leave for Sydney via the Bluff and Melbourne about the end of this month.
