SUBDIVISION OF GRESFORD ESTATE.
TO THE EDITOR 05" THE PRESS. Sir, —With reference to the above matte* I sincerely hope that you will use your in* fluence to prevent tha wrong which is being ■ done to tlie whole district by the wretched subdivision now made. The fact that a number of 2_\ acre sections have but one chain frontage each, may retard settlement somewhat, but otherwise cannot be grumbled at. . The crime consists in no provision being made for widening North Avon and Hill's road. Christ* church, and suburbs are already- cursed by narrow roadways here and there, and the time is, I think, not far distant when large sums will have to be spent to wider existing streets. The evil is recognised by all, and it seems a shame that it should be perpetuated in these times. My -little property is in Linwood, and therefore I am in no way interested excepting as a citizen o£ the Greater Chi-istchurch whioh is to bs, The agent for the, vendor says, he••**■ not to blame, and he seems to liave ; jnad« out a good case. Could you not send tha4 energetic interviewer of yours to get th« case from the standpoint of the St. Albana Borough Council, and try and end the unfortunate deadlock. Tlie land is advertised to be sold next week.—Yours, etc., F. T.
