Avid Lang Syne, with the Epsom weight up, aad going wide, negotiated a mile in lmin s_sec, mid faui Pry, m -no style, in lmm 50|sec. Severity skipped over a niila and a quarter in taking style in frn'ri Slsec, —ad Reviver compassed one mile comfortably in lmin 53sec; Hautesaa took half a second longer. St. C_ure badly beat First Consul over a miie in lmin SOjsee. ilelodion did seven furlongs m lmin 4oaec, and Hautboy a mile aad a quarter in -mm 24|sec, beating Lord Rudolph over the last mile in lmin 53.sec. O-Hina gaUoped the- mile in lmin Slsec. Dandy's owner «_mits he does not like the aspect of affairs, but hop** tha favourite will pu.l himself together. (Received September Bth, 10 a.m.)
SYDNEY, September 7. Dandy, appearing to have little the matter with him, did slow work to-day.
Bust—ess waa again br—k at the reading of the Handicap card at TattersaJl'a Club tonight. Dandy was backed at 1400 to 152, after which ho was firm at 8 to 1, anything Longer Wing snapped up. The most liberally supported was Auld Lang Syne, about £3300 being recorded against her at 100 to 8, after which she shortened to 100 to 9. Sar__w_ti was supported for _2700 at 100 to 5, Ampler for __000, and Argo for £1300 at 100 to 6. Parapet waa well backod at 100 to 2 to 2.. The prices offering at the close were:—3 to 1 Dandy, 100 to 9 Auld Lang Syne, 100 to 6 Saraswati, Ampier, and Argo, 100 to 5 Reviver, First Consul and Me'odian, 100 to 4 Rairfurly and Glenoie, 100 to 3 to 1 others.
