A notice has been issued to the shareholders of-the New Zealand Drug Company, stating that at a meeting of the directors it was• resolved that,in consequence of the Government having induced tihe tariff on drugs,'chemicals, druggists' sundries, patent proprietary medicines, this unexpected course will entail upon the shareholders a very heavy loss, ai tM; bulk of the stock is comprised under the above headings, and has paid tha biglher rates. The Board, after careful consideration, decided to pass the usual interim dividend, not being in a position to accurately discover the loss till the annual stock-taking.
