United Press Association— By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received September 6th, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, September 5. Commandant-General Botha's position overlooking Lydenburg is compared to tho position the Boers held at Laing's Nek. Botha is maintaining a continual fire with ten guns, but it is not effective, and the British losses are few. (Received September 6th, 10 a.m.) Commandant-General Botha is making a fierce stand, and holds the lofty headlands enclosing the valley. His guns cover the only British road northwards.
