BOROUGH COUNCILS.
RANGIORA. • At the monthly meeting of the RangierBorough Council, on Friday evening, letters were read from the Treasury, forwarding subsidy for the year, £129 Os Bd. Frosi the Ashley Road Board, enclosing account for the Council's share of the __a„.tea_uce of the Ashley traffic bridge. Mr Bu.l wrote, asking that a culvert en the Norfh drain be put into order. The agent for tne Public Trustee notified that a section hs4 been sold to Mr W. S. Jordan. Mr Lane'a offer to maintain the town clock for the ensuing year was accepted. Cr. Good reported on an interview the Mayor and himself had with Mr Bishop, S.M., re licensing matters. It was decided to ask the Kaiapoi Council to reduce the expenses whe_* possible. The contract for shingling the East belt was completed, and Edward street had been repaired. The financial statement showed receipts for the month £176 15s. Cr. balance in , bank £403 6s 3d. Accounts, £79 14s 2d, were passed for payment. . Some consideration wa. given to the Slaughtering and Inspection Bill.
