THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE BILL.
(PKES3 ASSOCIATION , TELEGRAMS.) DUNEDIN, July 9. At a meeting of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce it was resolved—(l) That this Chamber strongly approves and endorses the statements contained in the petition of the Wellington Chamber, and is of opinion that the Chambers of. Commerce and Jtfines Registration Bill is unnecessary and unworkable in the real interests of eainmeree. (2) That- this Chamber disclaims all reSponsibility for Mr Barclay's nnauthorised statement in" relation to its attitude towards the Bill. : EffVERCARGILL. J«lv 3!The Committed'of the Invercargill Chambffl* of Commerce to-dajr passed a resolution endorsing that of the Wellington Chamber protesting against the passing of the Chamof Commerce and Jtines Bill, andififtistini? that the Legislative Council wiil reject the measure. Tbe Committee- also sent thanks to 2»rr McNab, M.H.R., for voting against the Bill. 8 NAPIER. July 9. At a special meeting of the Chamber of Commerce this morning, a resolution Was unanimously carried urging the Hawkt's Bay representatives to use their best effort* in the direction of getting the Chaml>er» r.f O!>mmtrcs and Mines Registration Bill thrown out Tvh«n it comes before the Upper House.
