Captain Russell says that the Premier, in bis public capacity, ia the most persistent violator of the Truck Act in -his colony.
Mr Collins wishes to know "why tbe Government does not pay the prevailing rate of wages? Outside employers, he says, in many instances, pay a higher rate.
The Hon. Mr Cadman estimates that there must be at least four hunt-red extra men employed in the railway workshops at the present time. Mr r>edcfon is enthusiastic about a New Zealand' flag, and talks of bringing down a New Zeabnd Flag Act to secure to the colony the former design of the Union Jack with the four stats ot the Southern Cross on a blue held. Ho believes we could get a Royal warranty for such an Act.
