The Orient Steamship Company's report and balance-sheet 9hows a profit of £92,438, carried to reserve £76,669. A dividend of 3 per cent, has been declared, and £1776 carried forward. (Received April 23rd, 9.15 a.m.) THE POWERS AND THE PORTE. CONSTANTINOPLE, April 22. Despite the formal collective protest which has been received from the Powers, the Porte is raising the Customs duties from 8 to 11 per cent., believing that the Powers will yield upon the point at issue.
