The plumes are of a beautiful old gold colour, and delightfully sett and feathery. The plant is easily grown, and comes into bloom about May. Writing about this novelty, the " Home Garden " for June says:—" The golden plumes are, in our estimation, superior to any othjr ornamental grass, and would make a lovely artificial feather for a lady's hat. We predict a great Rale for the plants in the next few years." While the " Australasian "of June 10th, 18S9, says:—" The Fairy Grass of the Himalayas will become, perhaps, the most popular of all the ornamental ■pecjes." Of much utility for cutting purposes, thefiowers lasting from a week to ten days if placed in water. This fine novelty, which dies down in the autumn, and starts into growth again in the spring is one of the best introductions of recent years, aad will give ererv aatisfaction to growers. A beautiful pure White Wateonia, the finest and moat distinct of this splendid ! family. The flowers of this fine Watsonia are snow white in colour, and are regularly arranged on stalks branching off from the miin stem, somewhat resembling the Gladiolus. ■ [n growth Watsonia O'Brieni is much stronger and taller than the common varieties, the ! fiower stems under favourable circumstances ranging from four te fire feet high.
