Merchants have placed a few odd lines to local millers, but one fairly large parcel for shipment has, changed hands at current prices. Oats are decidedly easier, and difficulty is experienced in making sales. Stocks are pretty full pending arrival of available steamers. The Tropea is expected at Lyttelton next week, and is likely to relieve the port of about 40,000 sacks. Operations in potatoes show no movement at present. The following are current prices paid to farmers, f.o.b. Lyttelton, for direct shipment from country stations and free of commission, except where otherwise specified : — Wheat —Hunter's 2s 2d, pearl and velvet 2s 3d, and Tuscan 2s 4d.
