LAND BOARD.

The usual meeting of the Land Board wad held on Thursday. Present—Messrs Weetman, Meredith, McLachlan and Pringle,

The following applications for land were granted: —R. C. Thompson, 1 acre, Tamai; G. Christofanni, 1 acre 2 roods 10 perches, Pairaho: J. Brown, A. Henderson, H. F. Luers, J. Henderson, 3900 acres, Oxford; J. Townsend, 2 acres, Tamai; H. Ross, 366 acres, Punaroa. Several applications for transfers were considered, and the Grown Land Ranger's reports were received. An expenditure by the Waipara Road Board of fourths was approved. Mr Meredith, M.H.R., reported that in accordance with the wish of the Board he had visited the Takitu and Pareora No. 2 Settlements, and considered them admirably adapted for successful settlement by suitable holders.
