stating that certain members of a syndicate had been sent up to investigate an alleged gold find in the Rakaia district, samples of which have been shown in Christchurch,
We, the undersigned, being the parties sent up to investigate and prospect the ground with % view to prove the truth or otherwise of above allegations, state that after a careful prospect of the said area we are prepared to affirm that there is no trace of gold in the district. —Yours, etc., GEO.
