THE BORCHOREVINK EXPEDITION.
In replying to the toast of his health at • smoke concert at the Bluff, on Monday evening, Mr Borchgrevink. who has just returned from the Antarctic regions, said he could not give the details of what had been dona there, as that mvtst, first be divulged to on whose behalf the project had been undertaken,, but he would inform them that the heavy expenditure incurred on .sending the expedition to the regions of the South Pole had resulted in a completely successful mission. He **w no reason why tho people* in the colonies should not actively prosecute work °f the nature carried on for so many yss*» by people \ n the older lands.
