AUSTRALIAN CASUALTIES. LONDON, Mwch 8. Following Australian casualties reported from Achtertang with General Clemente's force:— A. H. Baker was "Wounded, and M. Ashmore is missing. Both these are West Australians. H. McCreedie, of the New South Wales Mounted Infantry,, had his asrJde broken.

BRIDGE DESTROYED BY THE ENEMY. - LONDON, March 9. General Clements seized Nerval's Pont. The Boers blew up the bridge over the river. Their rear guard is oi the northern bank.

THEIR GALLANTRY TO BE COMMEMORATED.
THE QUEEN'S COMMAND. LONDON, March 9. The Quetn will shortly create a regiment cf Royal Irish Guards. LONDON, March 8.
The Queen has ordered th* ranks of the Irish regiments in future to, wear on St. Patrick's Day a sprig of ehainrock on their head-dress. The order has been made to commemorate the gallantry, of the Irish' regiments serving in South Af flea.
