Colonel Mahon has occupied the capital of Kordofan, and found the place mere ruins, and deserted. INAUGURATION OF A HOLY YEAR. ROME, December 25. The Pope inaugurated a Holy Year. The services in connection with the ceremony, which included the opening of tho Holy Door of St. Peter's, Rome, extended over three hours and a'half. Three thousand persona were invited to be present.
