KAIAPOI BOROUGH SCHOOL.
The annual prize distribution of this school waa made in the Oddfellows' Hall on Thursday evening, there being a large attendance to wetness the awarding of a great many handsome award books. Mr R. Moore, Chairman of Committee, who presided, drew attention to the falling off in. attendance, and asked the parents to support the Committee in maintaining a good school and the high-class staff. The Ch-irmaii proposed a hearty vote of i thanks to the teaching staff, which waa car- ! ried by acclamation, Mr R. J. Alexander acknowledging the same. i Mr J. L. Wlson moved, Mr J. Bradley seconded, a cordial vote of thanks to the [ Committee, complimenting them on the arrangements of the evening. Mr Moore suitably repted. During the evening the National Anthem was sung twice, and under Miss Menzies tho infant scholars gave five action songs.
