A GROWING DANGER.
TO ■§* EDIIOB OF THB PBK3S. Sir, —I rsjret to think that my recent letter, bearisj on the immorality of our peopM — young ones especially, should havjfciled to have drawn your reference to tb#»ubject, or to have roused any public enthfriasm to the subject. I admit it requires Ireful handling,, but "needs must when the tjvil drives." Is it a maudlin ecntimeitfajty that keeps it in the background? bit too dirty to touch? I suppose it is to the goody-goody people of Cbristchurcfc But what ore we engendering througf the absence of means to check this fearfufgrowing evil? Since writing my last lefer on the subject, I have read some of th|evidenoe given before the Parliamentary Commission, and it is startling. I am please) to note that Bishop Grimes is publicly arake to its faarfulness. Will the balance of our clergy, our good people, our progreiive associations, still shut their eyes to, an* , withhold their interest from it, or is it to 1* fostered? Prohibition is nothing in comnrisoo.—Yours, etc., PATERFAMILIAS.
