MARKET REPORTS.
The fortnightly sale was lield at the Midland vYards on; Tuesday. The entry comprised some 1200 sheep, and good hoggets made 13a to 13s sd, fat ewes 14s 6d to 168, breeding ewes I*3 6d. There was a good attendance and a fair entry of stock at the Ranp'nra markets on Tuesday. In the Northern C ;ntral Yards the entry was 1500 sheep, laO cattle, 115 pigs. Prices were :—Freezers 163 6d to 17s 6d, batchers' half bred ewea 16s to 16* 6d, merinos 13s to Iss6d, ewes in lamb 14s to 16s, merino do 10s 6d to 11s 6d, hogaes 11s to 123, halfbred turnipers 15a to 15b sd. Cattle—Beef equal to 18s to 20j per lOOlbs, cow beef 13s to 14s, springers £4 to £6, two and a half-years-old catile £2. 10s to £4, yearlings £1 to £1 10s. Pigs—Baconers 38s to 455, porkers 28s to 325, good stores 18s to 235, 6mall stores 14a to 17e, weaners 12s to 15s, suckers 9s to 11s, sows in pig 57s 6d to 60s, choppers 55s to 60s. In the produce yards, the prices were :— Sheepskins to 5s 4d and 6s 3d, bides 3Ad lb, fat lid, bag wool sd, poultry 43 3d pair, ducks ss, pigeoi.s 2s, chick wheal Is 2d to Is lid bushel, oats Is 3d to Is 7d, do crushed Is 5d to Iβ 7d, beans 2s 6d, do crushed 23 Bd, oatsheaf chaff 403 ton,; straw do 255, grass seed Is to 2s 9d bushel, sharps ss, bran 3s, potatoes Is to 4s sack, blue peas 2s 9d to 3s. Mr A. S. C arkeon sod at auction at Rangiora 2£ acies at Wood«nd, occupied by Mr J. Scales, for £160, to M ■ T. Drabble, of Kaiapoi. At the Tinwald Yards on Tuesday, there was a yarding of 5000 sheep, 50 head of cattle and 70 pigs. The sale was well attended with farmers and others, and prices were up to late rates. Butchers' sheep—Fat ewes 10s 7d to 15? Bd, merino wethers 11s 5d to 12s sd, two and fourtooths 11s 10d to 13s Bd, freezers 15V'4d to 19a 4d. Stores — Crossbred ewes wifch Umbs 7e 4d to 9s, merino wethers Ba sd, hoggets 12s 9d to 13s 6d, forward* (sheep off turnips) 143 to 15a, crossbred ewea in, lamb 14s 6d to 16» 4d. Cattl*—Fat heifers £4 10a to £6 2s 6d, fat steers £6 7s 6d to £7 ss, fat cows £3 to £5 ss. Pigs—Porkers 22a to 26a, stores 16s 6d to 19s 6d, baconere 34s to £2 10b, k>wi in pig £2 6*.
