"United Pret» Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. PRETORIA, September 12. Mr Chamberteun's despatch has been handed to Mr Rei tz. September 13. The British despatch was read in the Volkaraad. It demands the immediate acceptance of the five years' franchise, with a quarter representation' in the Vdjjksraad for the goldfields, equality of the' Dutch and English languages, equality of dd and new burghers in the presidential and other elections, and a conference to settle franchise details and arrange guarantees. Unless there is definite acceptance of the demands Great Britain will take stops to secure a settlement. Unofficial opinion in Pretoria Anticipates the acceptance of the demands.
