FOOTBALL.
The football match between Ballantyne's , and the D.I.C. took place on Thursday ! afternoon at Lancaster Park. Although at . times the game was very exciting, good' play , was completely'spoiled by the state of the j ground. The D.I.C. had by far the best of k tbe game in both spells, and very nearly . succeeded in crossing the line on several occasions, but the whistle eventually \ Bounded, with no score on either side. Mr ' Asquith was referee.
