WAIMATE COUNTY COUNCIL.
«. The Waimate County Council, At its meeting on Wednesday, decided that the overseer should prepare poisoned grain,' and see to its distribution. A resolution was passed striking the county rate at 11-16 din £, and a harbour rate at 5-6 din £. The Lower Pareora Water Committee reported that they were in favour of carrying on the races without a ranger, md asking that a public meeting of ratepayers should be called 'to discues water questions. It was decided to call the meeting. It was also decided that a new Committee should be elected for the Lower Waihao water district. The Chairman and Mr Henderson were appointed to" inspect the Lower ». aihco water-race head works, and have therii cleaned out if necessary. , The Overseer reported that he had inspected the North Bush bridge, and would recommend the same site for another bridge, for which-he gave estimates. It wafe decided to get the timber at once. For "conrtraet Not 333, 'the tender of Mr B. White, £37 10s, was accepted. It was decided that fresh tendere should be called for contract No. 334.
