THE RAKAIA RAILWAY ENQUIRY.
Mr Pendleton, Commissioner of the South Australian railways, who, with Dr. Giles, of Auckland, will enquire into the Bakaia, railway accident, arrived in Wellington by fche Talune yesterday. A Press Association telegram states' that the Commissioners will remain in Wellington until Wednesday 1 night in order to make themselves" ac-'- ; quainted with various matters which! ithe'y- 1 will be required to look into. The.enquiry, will be formally opened at Christchurch, pn Thursday, but mo evidence will" be taken until the following morning.
