,G. and C. Merrian Company write: — We have before us your letter in reference to others claiming an agency for the British Edition of Webster's International Dictionary. In reply, we beg to advise that while you have tihe sole agency for Canterbury, it is utterly impossible for any other person tihao yourself to procure a> supply of the latest edition, of that work.
George Bell and Sons, Covent Garden, London, under date 25th January, 1899, write: —We are very sorry to hear that you are troubled by our edition. We have done what seems to be the only thing to be done, and have written putting the case and appealing to their sense) of justice to respect G. and C. Merrian Co.'s rights in the matter. We are on friendly business terms and hope that our letter may have tihe desired effect.
