EANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL
The monthly meeting of this Council was held on Friday evening, "when [here were presenii—The Mayor (Mr E. R. Goodi, Crg.Jennings, Keir, Sansom, Jones, and Qar.michael. Mr Ulrich asked that Mr.E.-B. Brown's name be placed on the rate roll for a property in . Goad street. The New' Zealand Accident wrote, ■ static thdt -the. rate of insurance on the men would be 20' per cent' instead-of 25 percent as formerly stated. Mr Burnett, Ilailway. Engineer, asked the Council to assist in preventing rubbish being put on to fche'Asliley. riverbed. A circular was received, notifying the date of Arbor. Day. The- Works Committee was empowered to arrange for planting if it can find suitable placed.' The Dog Raager reported that 127 dogs had been registered, leaving 10 still unregistered. The Council decided to sue owners, of all those not registered on the 7th July. The balance sheet of the Fire Brigade was Tead, and a vote of thanks was passed to the members for their services during the Tpasfc year. The financial statement showed receipts for the month., £137 2s 3d; credit balance, £409 5s 3d. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £43 12s 2d. Crs. Jennings and Keir were appointed to sign the rate ioll. It was decided'to enforce the 10 per cent, penalty on all rates unpaid sir montns after being payable; also, that Mr Tutton, bs granted a lease of Maria Andrews' Park for a year, at & rental of £12. The meeting then terminated.
