The monthly medal competition, of the",: Cbristchurch' Golf Club was held *<»-»*]*■ day on the -Hagley Pork links, -which, are now- in, better order than they hare yet been, this season. There was a.' good muster, twenty players handing in their 'cards. ■ For once the handicappers, who are usually successful in bringing fairly closely together a number of players of various degrees of skill, were astray in their calculations, and by underrating the latent golf abilities of a beginner, Mr H.
