SHEEP DOG TRIAL CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Christ* church Sheep Dog Trial Club - was held on Saturday, .at -Messrs Mat-son and Co.'s rooms; when there were twelve members present,' and Mr F. A. Archer presided. The Chairman said the accounts were not all made up, but he believed there would be a balance to cany forward. They would all. agree that the trials had been a great success, "but the trouble was that there were too many entries. A proposal had been made to make their meeting a championship one' for winning dogs at other meetings, and it'would be for the club to consider during, the year the best way to curtail the .entries without interfering with the success and popularity of the gathering. He moved a very hearty voteof thanks to Mr F. H. Wilson and the Trustees of the Cashmere Estate for placing the ground, etc., at the disposal of the club. Mr W. W. Morton seconded, the motion, which was carried unanimously. iHearty votes of thanks were also passed to the judges, Messrs W. 0. Rutherford and D. Eraser j Mr H. H. Ellis, hon. sec.; Mr W.; W. M°rton, hon. treas.; Messrs W. B. CJarkson, 'junr., and W. Henderson j junr., timekeepers; Messrs 0. P. Hugonin and W. G. Polhill, for supervising arrangements on the ground; and Mr RAulsebrook, for allowing the public .access through, his paddock; Mr A- G. Holmes, for the use. of sheep; and Messrs Jos. Little and-H. T. Little, for keeping the" Club's sheep; the donors of special prizes and contributors, to the funds of the Club,, including the Canterbury-A. and P. Association. The..chairman and , Messrs C. Stewart, E.. C. Clarkson and J. J. Tsbister were appointed a sub-committee to consider the.question of who were entitled to the prizes for fanners and drovers. A hearty vote of thanks was also paeeed to the chairman.
