«m A meeting of the' Committee of the Si ,; John Ambulance Association was ieid yester*.. day afternoon, Mr J. Oonnal presiding. The:'. report stated that" the horse ambulance had- V been used in removing twenty-seven cases, , t she, of which were accidents. Three nurses have been registered. One thousand of the Association's pamphlets on the pw«, / ve'ntion of consumption and typhoid foyer -■ had been received. It was decided to cir* '; culate 500 of these pamphlets amongst thomedical staff and .examiners, .- On the mo- - tion of Dr. Irving, it was decided to request - the railway authorities to provide hooks irii ' „ guards' vans to be used to swing hammocks '~ on in cases of accident. On the motion of ~ Mr T.. F. Old, seconded by Mr M. W. Woodfield, it waa decided—"That, in view of the late lamentable railway accident it is desirable that immedia-t- steps should be token .7 by certificated members of this Association r : ' to arrange for the furtherance of .the objects of the, Association, to endeavour to strengthen its organisation and prevail on J members to wear the badge,"
