EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB.
At this Club's bath. Gloucester street, on Saturday, the ninth annual race meeting of tho Club was held, when the weather, though on the cold side, was line, and the attendance good. Mr E. W. Roper started the competitors, Messrs W. Johnson, M. Saudsteiii, aoid W. W. Collins judged them, and Messrs M. Saatdstein and J as. Young kept thair time. The second distance of the Schools' Championship was won by J. McTavisb, of the East; Christchurch School, and the Senior Inter-club Handicap ■was secured by F. Truscott, of the East Christchurch Club, after a hard struggle, the limit man being nearly a thii-d the distance before ttoo winner could leave the mark.
