SWIMMING.
I A committee meeting, of the Christchurch Amateur Swimming . Club was Iteld on Wednesday night. Present Messrs A. Francis- "(in, the chair), J. Crummy, C. H. Fox. 0. Moller, J. M. Wat- . son, W. E. Simes, J. W. Eaves, D. Sinclair, G. Fitzpatrick. and the Hon. Secretary (Mr W. W. Samson). Apologies' were received from Messrs Smart, Sneddon, and Brabner. It was decided to add a Provincial Ch_mpion_hdn Race of 50 yards to the annual races, to be held at the baths on March Ilth, for which tro-hies of the value of £2 2s and £1 Is would be given. During the meeting Mr Francis spoke of the loss of Mr Woods as secretary, who has been transferred to Ashburton, and at the same time congratulated the Club on securing the services of Mr W. W. Samson as hon. secretary, who they a_i knew would do his best to further the interests of the Club. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr Woods for his services during his term of office. ' _ (P____ ASSOCIATION* TELE-BAM.) AUCKLAND, February 9. In the final heat of the test race in connection with the Auckland Swimming Club, G. Tyler won by about 15 yards, in 3m__ 2-sth sec. Bell was second and Fraser third. Tyler-is to represent the olub at the Championship Swimming Carnival at Wanganui. Ruaall, the.plunge champion, is also to be " present. Tyler starts in the 220 yards " championship and in several of the handicap events. _ . . ~ .
