AN APPEAL TO THE CANTERBURY PUBLIC. INFLUENTIAL COMMITTEE (the above being the Executive), has been formed for the purpose of Raising a Fund for the above purpose. * The sum of £ 12,000 will be required to Com-" plete the fabric in accordance with the original plans of the late Sir Gilbert Scott, OF THIS AMOUNT THE SUM OF £3806 12s 6d HAS ALBEA.3T BEEN PROMISED. THE PUBLIC OF CANTERBURY and all Well-Wishers to the Proposal are invited to support the movement as a most Suitable Memorial of the approaching. Jubilee of the Canterbury Settlement, thus completing a . building which formed the central figure of the design of the first colonists. CONTRIBUTIONS are solicited from all, either by one donation or by a subscription payable by instalments extending over three years, in any sum, large or small. NO DEBTS will be incurred, but the work will be proceeded with as soon as one-half the amount required is in hand, and intending contributors will materially hasten the commencement of the work by a Prompt Response. SUBSCRIPTIONS can either be lodged to the credit of the "CATHEDRAL COMPLETION FUND, with the Union Bank of Australia, Christchurch, or remitted direct to the Honorary Secretary, 164 Hereford street, Christchurch, who will be pleased to give any further information required.
