MELBOURNE, February 5. Mr Chamberlain iias cabled to Lord Brassey and to the Premiers congratulation? on behalf of the Imperial Government upon the result of the Federation Conference. In reply to the English Government's congratulations on the result of the Federal Conference, Lord Brassey, at the request of the Premiers, has expressed to Mr Chamberlain their high appreciation of the Government's message. LONDON, February 5. The Marquis of Lome has written a short English poem entitled "Australia Federata." The "St. James' Gazette" says it will be a terrible disappointment if the Australians leave unused the unparalleled opportunity to create a beautiful and stately capital. It suggests that it should be named Britannia.
